Crankwalk Survey

Results of the crankwalk survey. If you would like this list in excel format.
Results: As you will see below, crankwalk is a random event. It is not dependent upon, mods,
clutch, or even the oil you use. I can't see how the tranny could affect it either. The mods
may only accelerate the process. I am starting to believe that the problem either lies in
the actual thrust bearing, crank or oil passages. From a few of the people I have spoken to
I tend to believe more in the oil passages. I would be interested to find out if some of
the shops that have done repairs to the oil passages had crankwalk return? I also see from
the survey that the problem lies with Mits Corp. It is obvious that this is a manufacturing
defect, but that is another battle... Good luck and I hope this info helps.- Shawn

UPDATE: 2/01/02
After spinning a Rod bearing I had to do some additional research. For some of my
latest theories see: New 4G63 Short Block.
