Pictures and Description of my 2G - 1G Head Swap |

Got the head pulled. You can see some of the oil and coolant that spilled on
the block. You can also see how the number 1 and 4 piston move together. Looks
like I have some carbon on those pistons!

Internal shot of the cylinder walls. You can still see the machine
swirls. You can also see how high the pistons come up. I checked for
a lip on the wall, and there was none there.

Head with all of the stuff still on it.

The following are different views of the head. I took these pictures
to help me keep track of where everything goes while moving them to
the new head.

This was to help me with re-connecting the EGR.

Before moving too much stuff over to the new head, I needed to drill
and tap the intake camshaft. I have the head resting on the AEM cam
gears, and leveled with a few blocks.

I bought a titanium drill bit (17/64) which cut through the camshaft like butter.

I put a piece of electrical tape on the drill to mark the depth I need
to go down.

I included this picture because it is important to clean the shavings
very well. There is an oil feed hole there, and you do not want to get
any chips in there.
