Pictures and Description of my 2G - 1G Head Swap |

I finished drilling the hole, and now it was time to tap it with the 8 x 1.25.
I used the drill press to line everything up, and get it started.

Once I got it started, I hand tapped it, so not to break the tap.

I needed to grind a nail, to use as a measuring tool for the cam angle
sensor fitting.

This is the cam angle sensor fitting.

This picture is a little white washed, but it shows the tapped cam.

I needed to file off some of the bottom edge to get it to fit in the 1st gen cam.

This is another picture of the sensor fitting. IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure you
know which way it came out. There are two different size sides. You need to
know if the long side is up, or the short side is up. You will also want to
compare the sides to the lobes on the camshaft. In the picture the longer side
is on the left.

Because of the different sensors on a 1G and my 2G I had to custom make some
brackets to hold the sensors. My goal is to keep all of the smog equipment, so
I don't get a CEL (check engine light).

I got a little tired of swapping parts so I thought I would work on my timing
belt and balance shaft. This is the hydrolic tensioner. In order to compress it
I needed put in the vice.

I used a finish nail as the grenade pin.
